Dr. Fariba Asrari is a clinical associate and senior Radiation Oncologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology & Molecular Radiation Sciences. She is also the director of "Johns Hopkins Breast Center at Green Spring Station". She received her medical degree with honors from Shiraz Medical School in Iran and completed Internal medicine residency training at affiliated Hospitals of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She then completed her second residency training in Radiation Oncology at Hahnemann university in Philadelphia. She holds board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Radiation Oncology from the American Board of Internal Medicine and Radiology. She is an active member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology as well as the American Medical Association, American Radium Society, Mid-Atlantic Society of Radiation Oncologists and American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is the treasurer of Mid-Atlantic Society of Radiation Oncologists.
Her clinical activities involve general radiation oncology, treating patients with cancer of Breast , Gynecological organs (Cervix, uterus, vagina, Vulva), Gastrointestinal tract (colorectal, pancreas/billiary tree, gastric , esophageal), genitourinary tract (prostate, bladder, testis), Lung, Lymphoma and skin cancer. Dr. Asrari's special interest is in breast and Gynecological malignancies as well as skin cancer. Her main office is located at Johns Hopkins Green Spring Station. She also provides radiation Oncology consultation services at the Johns Hopkins main campus and Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Dr. Asrari participates in Residents and medical student teaching. She is the recipient of 2006 Director's Teaching Award in Clinical Science at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins and 2006 "Teacher of The Year Award" of Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology.
She also has received 2005 Thomas Fercoit Memorial Professional of The Year Award from "The ARC of Baltimore" in appreciation of her dedicated care of individuals with developmental disabilities.
