Dr. Rigamonti specializes in the following areas:

Vascular Diseases Affecting the Brain and Spinal Cord
Dr.Rigamonti specializes in the diagnosis and therapy of carotid stenosis, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVM)arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) and in particular familial aneurysms and vascular malformations. He works in close collaboration with the Neuro-Interventional Radiology Section headed by Dr.Kieran Murphy to offer the best combination of surgical and endovascular therapy to his patients.

Brain Tumors
Dr.Rigamonti specializes in the diagnosis and therapy of brain and spinal tumors: meningiomas, schwannomas, and particularly solitary hemangioblastomas and those associated with Von Hippel-Lindau disease.

Spinal Disorders
Dr.Rigamonti specializes in the diagnosis and therapy of spinal diseases such as: spinal stenosis, extruded discs. He works in close collaboration with Dr.Michael Ain (Orthopedics) to diagnose and treat patients with complex spinal problems associated with skeletal dysplasias.

Adult Hydrocephalus and Pseudotumor Cerebri
Dr.Rigamonti works in close collaboration with Dr.Michael Williams (Neurology) to diagnose and treat Adult Hydrocephalus and Pseudotumor Cerebri.

1. The molecular biology of familial vascular lesions (CIND.org).

2. The natural history and the treatment outcome of patients with achondroplasia.

3. The development of a "smart shunt" for the treatment of patients with Hydrocephalus and Pseudotumor.

4. As Scientific Director of the Agarini Foundation, Dr. Rigamonti is coordinating studies directed at repair of the Central Nervous System through regeneration.
