A note about delivery: Records
may be sent via the U.S. Postal Service, but may take up to two weeks
to arrive, or Federal Express. Carriers such as Priority Mail, UPS, or
Airborne Express, also may be used, but delivery may take an additional
three to four days to arrive as they are delivered to our shipping dock.
All films will be returned by regular U.S. mail. If return by express
mail is preferred, please include a prepaid express mail form with your
records.

Physicians may refer patients by calling 410-614-2886. Our referral coordinator
will answer your questions, collect the necessary information required
for the referral process, and schedule an appointment.

Our physicians welcome your calls. Together,
we can review your patient's medical history, discuss your patient's needs
and determine the best course of action.
After
a Referral is Made
We will call your patient for pre-registration
and discuss what he or she can expect at the first visit. An orientation
packet will be sent to your patient prior to the appointment with pertinent
information about their visit, and logistical information, such as location,
directions, and parking. We will provide a copy of any written notes on
your patient’s gamma knife procedure. Patients will be directed back to
the referring physician for follow-up care. Depending upon the condition
being treated, the effects of gamma knife surgery may occur over a period
of time. The faculty and staff of the Gamma Knife Center will work with
you in monitoring the effectiveness of the therapy and encourage your
participation in every phase of your patient's care.
